Living on an island in the North-West US, it seems natural to combine local raw materials such as ocean granite or wood with metal, leather, or ceramic to express the philosophical ideas that I’m interested in. I think there’s an innate tension between these materials which transfers as tension that is inherent in life, while also complementing and bolstering each other’s unique qualities.
